Most Likely Traffic Equilibrium Route Flows
نویسنده
چکیده
When analyzing equilibrium traac ows it is usually the link ows and link travel demands that are of interest, but in some certain cases analyses require the knowledge of route ows. It is well known that the route ows are non-unique in the static and deterministic cases of traac equilibrium. Furthermore, diierent assignment methods can generate diierent route ow output. We show how this non-uniqueness can aaect the results in applications such as in the O{D estimation/adjustment problem, in the construction of induced O{D matrices, exhaust fume emission analyses and in link toll usage analyses. We state a model for nding, uniquely, the most likely route ows given the equilibrium link ows, and propose a solution algorithm for the problem based on partial dualization. We present computational results for the proposed algorithm and results from an application to exhaust fume emissions.

Dynamic Traffic Equilibrium with Discrete/Continuous Econometric Models
A procedure is developed to simulate the spatial and temporal distribution of traffic flows on a simplified highway network for home-to-work commuter trips. The procedure is based on a discrete/ continuous econometric frq, mework in which travelers' choices of route and departure time are modeled. Equilibrium traffic flows are determined using the estimated econometric models in a classic supply...
متن کاملA Computational Study of Traffic Assignment Algorithms
Traffic congestion is an issue in most cities worldwide. One way to model and analyse the effect of congestion and other factors on route choice behaviour and to predict the impact of traffic management projects and transport policies is traffic assignment (TA). The most commonly used TA model is known as user equilibrium (UE), which is based on the assumption that all drivers want to minimise ...
متن کاملOn Calibration and Application of Logit-Based Stochastic Traffic Assignment Models
There is a growing recognition that discrete choice models are capable of providing a more realistic picture of route choice behavior. In particular, influential factors other than travel time that are found to affect the choice of route trigger the application of random utility models in the route choice literature. This paper focuses on path-based, logit-type stochastic route choice models, i...
متن کاملIntegrated-Equilibrium Routing of Traffic Flows with Congestion
The routing of traffic flows is an important mechanism to alleviate traffic congestion. However, it faces a dilemma. For the traffic manager, it is desirable to achieve system optimum, which may discriminate against some users, and yet the user wishes to use the shortest route to maximize his/her utility, which may result in inferior system performance. Based on the conflict between the "system...
متن کاملFeedback Effects Analysis of Traffic Information Based on Bayesian Theory
The feedback effects of ATIS information for helping travelers choose optimal routes are researched. We build a dynamic route choice model for ATIS; analyze the adjustment and renewal process of travel route decision based on Bayesian method and logit choice model. Furthermore, through comparing whether can obtain ATIS information for users, the route choice rules are designed and practical sim...
